Storage and Use of Hard Drives Inside a Fire Safe

The patented FloSafe™ vents allow for cool airflow inside every ioSafe hard drive or system, including the external USB hard drive, NAS storage server and 3.5" internal hard drives during normal operation. When the room temperature rises above 200°F, the heat triggers the fire resistant FloSafe vents to automatically shut and seal, cutting off outside heat and protecting the disks held inside the fire resistant safe. This auto-detection of heat and auto-closure of vents do not rely on electrical power. The ioSafe data storage hardware is protected with ioSafe's proprietary DataCast fire resistant insulation. It has been designed specifically for hard drive data recovery in case of fire. The DataCast formulation forms a chemical bond with water molecules that, at temperature above 160°F, releases water vapor to limit the internal temperature of the unit. This enables the ioSafe data storage product to protect your data from heat damage while the unit is engulfed in fire. Since every ioSafe hard drive is individually waterproofed, you don't have to worry about water damage to your digital data stored on the drive.
